Non-Traditional Pets
The Compendium of Measures to Prevent Zoonotic Diseases Associated with Non-Traditional Pets was first published by the NASPHV in collaboration with the CDC in 2022 and provides standardized recommendations for public health officials, veterinarians, healthcare providers, animal breeders, distributors, retailers, government agencies, and non-traditional pet owners concerned with the prevention of zoonotic diseases and minimizing health risks associated with contact with rodents, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, backyard poultry, and other selected animals.
